How to Make a Referral

If you feel your Mercy Care Long Term Care member may benefit from seeing one of our behavioral health specialists, please:

  1. Contact the member’s case manager
  2. Identify the member’s needs:
    • Counseling
    • Medication evaluation
    • Both Medication and counseling
  3. Case manager will make a behavioral health referral

Depending on the member’s location and functioning level, a provider may come to the member’s residence instead of having to take the member out to an office appointment. All behavioral health referrals are reviewed by a Master’s level behavioral health clinician and ongoing behavioral health services are reviewed every 90 days during consultations between the case manager and a Master’s prepared clinician.
