Prior Authorization

Mercy Care Plan requires prior authorization for selected acute outpatient services and planned hospital admissions. Prior authorization is not required for emergency services.

Prior Authorization Requirement Search Tool (or ProPAT) is a tool that allows providers to easily review prior authorization requirements at a code-service group level and to receive immediate Yes/No answers regarding authorization requirements. To use this tool please visit MercyOneSource.

  1. ALWAYS verify member eligibility prior to the provision of services.
  2. Complete appropriate authorization form ( Medical or Pharmacy) and attach supporting documentation.
