Mercy Care Plan continually works to educate our providers and our members on the importance of addressing behavioral health and substance abuse issues. Members diagnosed with behavioral health issues have significantly higher numbers of medical complaints. Here are some common warning signs to look for:

  • Abuse of alcohol or druts
  • Excessive anger, hostility, violence
  • Excessive anxieties
  • Extreme highs or lows
  • Inability to cope with problems
  • Marked personality changes
  • Prolonged depression and apathy
  • Strange or grandiose ideas

If you identify a Mercy Care Plan member with one or more of these symptoms, please make a referral for behavioral health services at the appropriate RBHA.
