Promoting and facilitating quality healthcare services with particular concern for the poor and those with special needs. We take this mission seriously, and we share a special relationship with our community partners as we work towards common goals.

[Mercy Care Plan / March of Dimes]

Mercy Care Plan and the March of Dimes Arizona chapter have worked together to assure that quality prenatal care is available to all Arizona mothers. We are committed to providing education and access to care that prevents preterm births that are so difficult for babies and families and so costly for the community.

[Michael Simoni, State Director; March of Dimes AZ Chapter]

March for Babies Phoenix gets about 8,000 participants each year for one of the largest walks in the state, and Mercy Care knew that they could deliver important information, fun activities, and really own that portion of the walk. That is something that we hadn’t had years prior to Mercy Care’s involvement.  Mercy Care is on the top of the list among organizations who really embody the spirit of giving back.  And Mercy Care employees rally like no one else behind the causes that they support.

The important thing is working together we’re able to give many more birthdays to the children and the families here in Arizona to celebrate, and that’s exciting.

[Mercy Care Plan / Special Olympics Arizona]

For 6 years, Mercy Care Plan has partnered with Special Olympics Arizona. That partnership has flourished and now supports many innovative initiatives including Over the Edge, the Waste Management Open, the Summer Games in Tucson and The Healthy Athletes Village at the Summer Games in Phoenix.  Today thanks to the Mercy Care Plan and Special Olympics partnership, the Healthy Athletes Village has grown and is now able to provide over 1,600 health screenings annually to over 300 Special Olympics Athletes.

The team here is amazing. They want to make sure that our athletes are always the premier focus.  We always say at Special Olympics we want to treat our athletes like they’re Major League because they are.  Mercy Care has always bought into that.  Nothing but the best.

I think partnering with Mercy Care has been, it’s the true example and it set an example not only to Arizona, but nationally. Mercy Care is a major reason we’ve become national and international leaders in health.

Today’s Arizona’s foster children face a growing crisis. Their needs are greater than the resources to care for them.

Mercy Care Plan and Mercy Maricopa Integrated Care formed a partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Dignity Health, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Arizona Care Network and the Arizona Department of Child Safety to host a foster awareness baseball game and health fair.  The nonprofits that participated in this field of dreams event included human resource training, Southwest Network, Arizona Children’s Association, the Arizona Chapter of the Foster Family Base Treatment Association, Children’s Action Alliance, and Jewish Family and Children’s Services.  Foster families learned how to access healthcare while foster kids received haircuts, face painting, professional photographs, Dback t-shirts and caps, backpacks, gift cards to restaurants, Fry’s food stores, Old Navy and every child received a 25 gift card to Payless shoe stores.

[Debbie Castaldo Arizona Diamondbacks Vice President, Corporate of Community Impact]

Prior to joining the Arizona Diamondbacks 7 years ago, I was part of the Dignity Health Family, and so for many, many years I have known how special Mercy Care Plan is and what their impact and role is in this great community. And so when I was looking for a partner to work on our foster care initiatives hoping to make that impact, of course, I would turn to the Mercy Care team.  Their commitment to this community has been unwavering.  But more importantly, they understand the complex issue facing our most underserved children and their families.  I wanted that expertise.  I wanted to learn how could we do more?  How could we be real?  How could we make sure that the efforts and the money we’re putting toward this program will really make the difference we hope to make?  Is there a child or a family out there where we can actually get them headed in the right direction?  Make sure they have their resources they need, or what if we could find families that might join the foster and adoptive care system and take hold of a child that so desperately wants a loving home?  Well, Mercy Care gets it, we get it, and we hope to make a long term difference right here in the community we live in.

[Christi Lundeen, Chief Promotion Officer, Mercy Care Plan]

This is what Mercy Care is all about. Yes, we play claims, and we authorize services, but what’s important is that member and what our community needs beyond what we can do from covering their healthcare it’s just a great place to work.

[Mercy Care Plan / March of Dimes]
